Application overview
Sampling and sample introduction
Use a gas-tight sampling route compatible with the stream. Purge the sampling path, confirm a stable sample and avoid condensation or fractionation before the fixed-volume loop is filled. LNG samples require representative vaporization before injection.
Separation and detection
The column and valve arrangement separates permanent gases and hydrocarbon groups required by the adopted method. TCD and FID channels can be combined when the component list spans permanent gases and hydrocarbons; channel selection is based on analyte response and concentration range.

Frequently asked questions
What must be defined before configuring a natural-gas GC?
Define the gas source, required component list, expected ranges, sampling pressure, reporting basis and adopted method before selecting columns and detectors.
Why are both TCD and FID commonly considered?
TCD can address permanent gases and higher-level components, while FID provides a strong response for hydrocarbons. The final detector path follows the required analytes and range.
