Choose the route from the sample matrix
Chromatographic separation and detection
The separation must resolve benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene isomers from matrix components. FID is suitable for many hydrocarbon-focused workflows; confirmation requirements or more complex matrices can call for different selectivity or GC-MS.
Calibration and quality control
Prepare calibration and quality-control samples through the same collection or preparation route used for the samples. Include blanks, continuing calibration checks, replicate analysis and matrix-appropriate recovery checks.

Frequently asked questions
Which sample-introduction route should be used for BTEX?
Use the route required by the sample matrix and adopted method. Water, air and extracted solid samples do not share one universal introduction technique.
Is FID suitable for every BTEX method?
FID is useful for hydrocarbon detection in suitable GC methods. Methods requiring compound confirmation or different selectivity may require another detector or GC-MS.
Discuss the analytical configuration
Send the sample source, target components, expected range, adopted method and daily workload. Huishi Instruments will review the sampling path, separation, detectors and gas supply as one system.
